What Do You Do, Specialize In Or Excel At?
I am a multitalented business entrepreneur and performer. I excel at modeling, branding and social media marketing, and writing. I also have a degree in theater, am an actress and I write plays, poetry, and short books.
What’s Your Story?
Born on the South Side of Chicago, I come from a community of familiarity and long generational tracings. My mother and uncle owned a building in the notorious Woodlawn community where the Hansberry Family made it possible to end red lining with the controversy of Lee Vs. the Supreme Court. After spending time there and in Bolingbrook, IL I moved to California. By that time I had already had my hands in choirs, drama classes, marching band, and leadership clubs, and continued in those paths up until my graduation from college with a degree in Theater Arts from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Now that I am back, I have many different chapters of life developing simultaneously and can only be appreciative that I am living the life of my wildest dreams here in my hometown.
What Impact Are You Trying To Have With Your Business or with what you are doing?
I wish someday to own a production company and network that centers the works of diverse stories, that are both compelling and comforting at the same time. I love arts that bring the humanity back to the audience regardless of what media is used to present it. I also wish to aid those who suffer most from a capitalist worldview to create, move, and inspire others and be compensated for their time and craft.
What Is The Piece Of Advice You’d Give Another Woman In Business or career?
You are the gift that you seek, and the feeling of waiting ends when you step into your authority. There is nothing more redeeming than fearlessly pursuing the goals, and dreams you’ve had, the obstacles usually don’t chance, but the more leaps of faith you take, the bigger the hurdle you can over come.
Any Big Lessons You’ve Learned Along Your Journey?
Not taking no for an answer can leave you drained, persistence is about balance, and what is for you is for you, so be afraid not of rejection, but of burn out. Your life’s journey is a marathon, not a speed race.
