It is said that a personal brand is how you are perceived by other people, and how you make them feel.
We make important decisions, like shopping, based on visuals. First impressions influence consumers’ way of thinking about of a business or product.
As you probably have seen, more and more often, people are portraying photos themselves all over social media and their websites: they want to gain trust and credibility, but mainly make their customers be interested in who they are, what their message is and stand apart from their competition.
Therefore having creative, lifestyle and professional images can have a huge impact in your business and career. The “head-shot” is not enough, nowadays everybody wants to see you in action, your workspace, what you wear, what you eat, what you enjoy… the list is interminable. People want to make business with REAL PEOPLE!
When you decide that is time to invest in professional photography for your brand, make sure that the photographer you hire understands who you are, what is your business, your journey and what is the message you want to give with your new images.
In my case, I send my clients a Brand Clarity Questionnaire who helps them understand what is the message they want to give with their new images and where are they going to use them.
It will include, as well, at least one or two wardrobe changes, so you could have a wide variety of photos that you can go back to your library of images and use in different marketing sources.
Let’s say that a magazine want to feature an article about you, you would be able to send a photo of your chose.
Your images can go on everything from your business cards to your website or even a Billboard!. They can be curated into your instagram and used in ads and banners. If you are a personal brand in today’s market, your image is your reputation and the first impression your clients will see. It should be consistent and top-grade.
When thinking about the style and mood you want for your photography keep your marketing pieces and your brand colors in mind. Knowing how you are going to use your images will keep your imagery cohesive and on-brand.
Now I invite you to go back and take a look to the photos you are using in your social media, website or marketing in general, are they high-class? do they speak the message you want to give to the world? If not, I suggest you start thinking in updating them.
I bet, you’d like to be better than your competitors, attract the right clients, right?
Getting to know more about you and your passion is one of my favorite parts of the process. After an initial consultation to discover how you want to be photographed we discuss your brand and who your target market is. Don’t quite know? That’s okay, that’s why I am here.
I would love to help you build an extensive collection of storytelling portraits and detail shots to represent your true brand that will appeal to your specific audience!
